With many years of experience behind him, Jordi Garrido offers a gastronomic experience defined by his personality, passion and respect for the products he uses, offering a fresh, healthy, authentic, local cuisine in an exceptional setting.
At 35 years of age, he has worked in Martín Berasategui’s kitchen in San Sebastian, at Casa Marcelo in Santiago de Compostela, at Neichel in Barcelona and in Angel Pascual’s kitchen in Lluçanés. In his native Valencia, he worked with Oscar Torrijos before opening his own restaurant, the renowned Portal Fosc, in Xàtiva. Jordi Garrido’s Portal Fosc was recognised as Best New Restaurant in the Valencian Community in 2009 and was a finalist for the same award at the Spain´s International Summit of Gastronomy "Madrid Fusión" 2010.
Jordi Garrido joined Mas de Torrent in 2012 and since then he has been finalist as chef of the year in the "Fòrum Gastronómic" event in 2013 and finalist as "revelation-chef" of the year in "Madrid Fusión" 2014. Garrido has also been involved as a speaker at many gastronomic events.
